Education is a collaborative effort that requires the support and involvement of our entire community. -
Impact: By volunteering with us, you'll directly contribute to the success and well-being of our students. Your support can make a significant difference in their academic and personal growth.
-
Community Engagement: Volunteering is an excellent way to get involved in your child's education and connect with other members of the school community. It's a chance to build relationships and work together towards a common goal.
-
Personal Growth: Volunteering provides opportunities for personal growth and development. Whether you're interested in gaining new skills, expanding your network, or simply giving back, there's something for everyone.

Requirements for Volunteering
Please see each section below for what is required to volunteer at East Lake School.
This year we have sent out an email with a PDF presentation to review information required for all volunteers.
Rocky View Schools requires that all volunteers provide a criminal background check. Background checks are considered valid for 5 years. A letter is available at the office and is needed to apply at the RCMP detachment. This check may take several weeks to complete so please make sure you apply for one ahead of time. This must have been completed for East Lake School, we cannot accept ones done for any other organization.
There are 3 annual forms which need to be filled by the potential volunteer:
1) Complete the Annual Declaration Form – Volunteers Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check Form.
2) Complete the Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Undertaking – Volunteers Form.
3) Complete the Consent for Public Use of Volunteer/Visitor/Contractors Image/Work Form (If you do not consent, write Do Not Consent across the form, do not leave the form blank).
Review the Hour Zero Classroom Summary of Emergency Functional Protocols. In the event of an emergency evacuation, please exit the school and meet at the back of the school, at the top of the hill. Do not go to your child’s class lineup. We must ensure no one is left in the school.
Volunteers are required to sign in at the office and wear a volunteer badge for security/safety reasons and in the event of a school evacuation. Volunteering is a very rewarding experience and connects parents to their child’s school experience.
