RVS Board approves 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan

The Rocky View Schools (RVS) Board of Trustees is excited to share with you the 2022 – 2026 RVS Strategic Plan.

Friends Society Winter Bazaar Fundraiser Evening 6 – 8:30 pm

Our Friends Society will be holding a
Winter Bazaar Fundraising Event that will include photos with Santa, crafts and a
bake sale on Wednesday evening at the school from 6 – 8:30 pm

Laminating
-
We are looking for a parent volunteer that can laminate twice a week. If you have attended a volunteer orientation and are interested, please contact Ms. Gunn at ngunn@rockyview.ab.ca

Truth and Reconcilliation Day September 30
-
This school year will mark the second annual observance of Truth and Reconcilliation Day. Our school will engage in activities leading up to it and RVS will be observing the day by not having school on the 30th.

Terry Fox Walk/Run Fundraiser September 23
-
We will be hosting our annual Terry Fox Run later on in September as our annual fundraiser for cancer research. Our goal will be to raise $1600 which is approximately $2 for every student and staff member in our school, using the slogan, “Twoonies for Terry”.

Parent Council & Friends Society Meeting September 21 6 pm
-
One of the easiest and best ways of being involved in your child’s educational journey through our school is by becoming involved in Parent Council and our Friends Fundraising Society. They hold monthly meetings that include reports from our local School Board Trustee, School Admin and Student Council. The meetings were blended being both in-person and online and we may look to continue this practice.

Volunteer Orientation September 20 & 21 5 pm
-
In order for us to welcome volunteers into our school for the upcoming year we will be hosting a couple of orientation sessions in the upcoming week. All volunteers will need to provide a criminal record check and complete some other required documentation. Please contact our office to book a spot in one of these two sessions if you would like to volunteer this year.

Meet the Teacher Events K – Gr 3 Sept 20 3:30 - 5 pm Gr 4 – 6 Sept 21 3:30 – 5 pm
-
We are excited that this year we will be able to have in person events including Meet the Teacher to kick the year off. These events will be hosted from 3:30 – 5 pm and will be come and go events. They aren’t meant to be parent / teacher conferences, and should a parent want a more in depth conversation about their child we would invite them to schedule an alternate date for this to occur.
