    • Very important Battle of the Books meeting for all students who are participating in the grade 3-5 battles.  Please meet in the Foods room during the first part of lunch.

    • Todays intramurals for our Grades 7-9 during the second half of lunch are: The Squirters vs Visions. Polite spectators who can control their behaviour are welcome to attend.

    • Bring in all your pop can tabs after the break between February 27 and March 27. For every pound our school collects 40 cents is donated. All the money raised will go to Free The Children. A pizza party will be given out to the class that brings in the most pounds of tabs. SO LETS GET COLLECTING!!!

      • Battle of the Books students in the 3-5 category, please return the books that you are finished reading so other students can read those ones too.

-Congratulations to Saydee and Simran in grade 9 who presented about their Soap for Hope fundraiser at the Rocky View Middle School Leadership Conference.

Congratulations Grade 6 Girls Basketball for your undefeated season. You worked hard and East Lake is very proud of you.

The grade 6-9 band students are holding a valentine's day bake sale tomorrow. They will be selling a variety of baked goodies from the kiosk during lunch time.  students in grades 5-9 can buy sweet treats from 12;05-12:25 and students in kindergarten to grade 4 can buy from 1225-1245. All treats will cost $1 or $2 each. Money raised will go towards lowering the cost for the Band students' trip to Camp Chestermere and Edmonton. Thank you for your support.

  • This is for our Grade 7 and 8 students who would like to play Jr. "B" basketball. There will be a practice for both the boys and the girls right after school today. The practice will finish at 4. Please arrange for transportation prior if required.

  • We'd like to say good-bye to our student teachers from the University of Calgary who will be leaving us today, but will be returning in February. Staff and students have really enjoyed having you here and look forward to your return in the new year!

  • We will be celebrating the holidays next week with a Holiday Spirit Week!  The themes for the week are as follows:

  • Battle of the Books--Get a team together and sign up with Mrs. Gunn.   Grade 6-9 battles begin in January.  Grade 3-5 battles will happen in March.
  • Congratulations to the following classes who took on the Problem of the Month for November:  Mrs. Gerla's class found very creative solutions.  M. Wall's class found over 10 different solutions.  Mme Marcil's class worked diligently. Mme Boussaha's class figured out how many tires were needed.   Well done!
