  • Art Club meeting in Ms. Winters' classroom at lunch today.  Anyone in grades 4 to 9 is welcome to attend.

  • Math Problem—Please send any work from Friday to Mme Waite. She needs this to make a display.

  • Math Games—Please send any math games (clearly labelled) to Mme Waite for this evening's event.  Thanks!

  • There are only 2 seats left on the bus for the ski trip. If you are still wanting to go,  you need to hurry and bring in the forms. Could the following students ensure they take their forms to Mr. Hilland today: Ava Hayward, Brynn Foster, Owen Foster and Jasreet Gill.

  • If you are in grade 7-9 and would like to Intramural Basketball, get a group of 6 friends together, come up with a team name and give this to Mr. Hilland today or tomorrow.

  • It's our Math Problem Day!  How are you going to get to the 'heart' of the matter?  Teachers, please bring solutions to the office so they may be displayed in the forum.

  • We have a few seats left for our Grade 7-9 ski trip.  Remember, only the first 50 will get to go. If interested, you can get the forms off the e-mail that was sent to your parents and pay on line through school cash. The dates are January 30 and February 6.

  • Leadership Assemblies today.  Our focus is on the competency of  Problem Solver this month.

  • Good luck to our Junior A basketball teams who are competing tomorrow.   Go Eagles!!

  • Reminder: Students in Grade 7-9 if you have your ski trip forms you need to get them to Mr. Hilland right away.

Tuesday, January 9th

  • There is going to be an ART CLUB for Grades 4-9.  This Club will happen on Day 4 only.  The first meeting will be Tuesday, January 16 in Ms. Winters' classroom. Please come if you are interested.

  • A  warm East Lake welcome to the facilitators of Junior Achievement who will be working with some of our middle school students.

  • Just a reminder for those Grade 7-9 students that would like to go on the ski trips that are being offered to ensure that the bring in their forms to Mr. Hilland as soon as possible.   • Battle of the Books--Which book are you going to read first? Remember, you can sign books out of our library or the Public Library.

  • We'd like to say good-bye to our student teachers from the University of Calgary who will be leaving us today, but will be returning in February. Staff and students have really enjoyed having you here and look forward to your return in the new year!

  • We will be celebrating the holidays next week with a Holiday Spirit Week!  The themes for the week are as follows:

    • Monday, Dec. 18 – Candy Cane Day (wear red and/or white)

    • Tuesday, Dec. 19 – Winter Hat/Headband Day

    • Wednesday, Dec. 20 – Holiday Colour Day (blue, white, gold, red, green)

    • Thursday, Dec. 21 – Festive Sweater/Shirt Day

    • Friday, Dec. 22 – Pajama Day

  • Mrs. Gunn will not be in today. Battle of the Books applications will continue on Monday. Please remember that the Chestermere public library can provide you with the books too. The book lists have been posted to our website.

Tuesday, December 12th

  • Battle of the Books--Get a team together and sign up with Mrs. Gunn.   Grade 6-9 battles begin in January.  Grade 3-5 battles will happen in March.
  • Congratulations to the following classes who took on the Problem of the Month for November:  Mrs. Gerla's class found very creative solutions.  M. Wall's class found over 10 different solutions.  Mme Marcil's class worked diligently. Mme Boussaha's class figured out how many tires were needed.   Well done!
