BUCKS FOR BRONCOS! Bring in a donation and Wear a Jersey on April 12 to show your support for those who are affected by the Humbolt Broncs bus tragedy. By wearing a jersey it will show that our school community is supporting everyone effected by this event.  Donations will be added to the go fund me page set up for the players.

  • East Lake would like to congratulate Keelin Balla, Adnan Harb, Lauren O'Bertos &  Emily Steeves who were chosen to play in the Southern Albert Junior Honour Band.  These hard working band students were chosen to represent the best middle school band students in all of Southern Alberta!  Way to go!

Congratulations Grade 6 Girls Basketball for your undefeated season. You worked hard and East Lake is very proud of you.

The grade 6-9 band students are holding a valentine's day bake sale tomorrow. They will be selling a variety of baked goodies from the kiosk during lunch time.  students in grades 5-9 can buy sweet treats from 12;05-12:25 and students in kindergarten to grade 4 can buy from 1225-1245. All treats will cost $1 or $2 each. Money raised will go towards lowering the cost for the Band students' trip to Camp Chestermere and Edmonton. Thank you for your support.

  • Just a reminder for those Grade 7-9 students that would like to go on the ski trips that are being offered to ensure that the bring in their forms to Mr. Hilland as soon as possible. There are still seats available, but only the first 50 will get to go. If interested, you can get the forms off the e-mail that was sent to your parents and pay on line through school cash. The dates are January 30 and February 6.

  • We'd like to say good-bye to our student teachers from the University of Calgary who will be leaving us today, but will be returning in February. Staff and students have really enjoyed having you here and look forward to your return in the new year!

  • We will be celebrating the holidays next week with a Holiday Spirit Week!  The themes for the week are as follows:

    • Monday, Dec. 18 – Candy Cane Day (wear red and/or white)

    • Tuesday, Dec. 19 – Winter Hat/Headband Day

  • Battle of the Books--Get a team together and sign up with Mrs. Gunn.   Grade 6-9 battles begin in January.  Grade 3-5 battles will happen in March.
  • Congratulations to the following classes who took on the Problem of the Month for November:  Mrs. Gerla's class found very creative solutions.  M. Wall's class found over 10 different solutions.  Mme Marcil's class worked diligently. Mme Boussaha's class figured out how many tires were needed.   Well done!
