Today is the start of Ramadan. Ramadan is a period of prayer, fasting, charity-giving and self-accountability for Muslims. Many Muslims in Canada fast during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan. The fast is broken with prayer and a meal after sunset. Ramadan ends on June 15 with a celebration called Eid .
East Lake School's Got Talent, That’s right! East Lake School's Talent Show is On the 15th of June. IF you are interested in auditioning, classroom auditions for grades 1-6 will be happening before the end of this month ask your Teacher for details. Grade 7-9 auditions will be held on June 4th.. The grade 6-9 band students are holding a valentine's day bake sale tomorrow. They will be selling a variety of baked goodies from the kiosk during lunch time. students in grades 5-9 can buy sweet treats from 12;05-12:25 and students in kindergarten to grade 4 can buy from 1225-1245. All treats will cost $1 or $2 each. Money raised will go towards lowering the cost for the Band students' trip to Camp Chestermere and Edmonton. Thank you for your support.
